PRESS RELEASE...
PRECISION TIME SYSTEMS, INC.
APRIL 5, 2000
Precision Time is proud to announce that it has completed its' College
Basketball Season 1999-00. The Precision Time System performed flawlessly in
the Men's and Women's Tournaments in the ACC, the BIG 12, and the CIAA.
Precision Time congratulates Duke University's Men and Women for winning their
respective tournaments in the ACC and to Iowa State University's Men and Women
for winning in the BIG 12. This was the 55th year of the CIAA Tournament and
congratulations go to Winston-Salem State University's Men for this year's win
and the Livingstone College Women for their championship win.
Precision Time sent Company Representatives to all 6 tournaments (men's and
women's) to supervise and operate the use of the Precision Time System. John
Costabile reported no problems whatsoever at the Women's ACC Tournament in
Greensboro, NC and Jerry Tyson represented Precision Time in Charlotte, NC at
the Men's ACC tourney. Mike Costabile spent a full week in Kansas City, KS and
also received praise for a job well done at both the Men's and Women's BIG 12
Tournaments. Barbara Carter produced a glowing report for Precision Time's
accuracy and reliability during the CIAA's Men's and Women's Tournaments. HATS
OFF to all these folks.
This year, Precision Time was also
implemented in many High School Tournaments. This was the first year that the
Nebraska High School State Athletic Association used the Precision Time System
in their State Wrestling Tournament. This was also the first year of Precision
Time use in the Illinois High School State Basketball Championships. This was
our second year of Precision Time being used in the New Mexico High School
State Basketball Tournament. Precision Time is also proud to announce our fifth
anniversary with the North Carolina High School State Basketball Tournament. We
are very proud of the successful involvement that has occurred with these high
school associations.
Precision Time is currently working to put
our Timing Device into many more college conferences and state high school
associations in the next 1 to 2 years. We are happy to see this product being
well received by the many colleges, universities, and high schools that have
implemented the system. Precision Time is honored to have made a substantial
contribution to the game of basketball.
The National
Basketball Association Officials training camp was held at the Disney's
Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista Florida from July 16th to July 23th
1998. They used the PRECISION TIME SYSTEM® for eight days. The
system performed flawlessly. It is a strong possibility that the NBA
will go to this system after the lockout is over, or the 1999 - 2000 seasion.
Ed T. Rush the new Supervisor of Officials for the NBA was very pleased
with its performance.

Dear Mr. Costabile:
We implemented the Precision Time
System at both our fall and winter state basketball tournaments this past
year. We were very pleased with the results at both tournaments and plan to use
the system again next year. In game situations, where it is impossible to hear
the officials whistle, the Precision Time System is invaluable. This system
eliminates virtually all timing questions and confusion. The Precision Time
System would be an asset to any school.
Sincerely,
Larry Johnson
Assistant Director, Virginia High School League, Inc.
The Precision Time System® was used for the first time in the North Carolina
Independant Schools Athletic Association 1998 State Basketball Championships
held between March 3rd & 7th at Davidson College in Davidson, NC. The
system performed flawlessly.
Virginia High School League used the
Precision Time System® for the first time in
their State Championships which was held in the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, VA on
March 12, 13 & 14, 1998. Once again the system performed without error in
all twelve championship games.
The Precision Time System® is going to be used in the 1998 North Carolina High
School State Championships Mens & Womens games. These games are held at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Mens games in the Dean E.
Smith Center and Womens games at Carmichael Auditorium. This tournament is
where the Precision Time System® was first
introduced in 1995 and we are now in our fourth year at these state
championships.

Mr.
Costabile:
On behalf of the table crew commissioned to work the
Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) basketball tournament in
Winston-Salem last week, I would like to take this opportunity to personally
express my pleasure in working the Precision Time System.
As the official game clock operator during this tournament for the past
three years, no one understands more than I, the enormous responsibility of
making sure that the accuracy of the game clock is maintained. Prior to using
this system, it was virtually impossible to maintain that accuracy because the
noise level would make it difficult to hear the officials whistle signaling a
dead ball. This caused a lot of frustrations and timing errors because the
accuracy was totally dependant upon the operator "hearing the whistle". However
when the noise level was high and the intensity was escalated this past week,
the Precision Time System worked like a dream every time.
Collegiate basketball is not only a game, it is a business as well. And
when a tick of the clock can mean the difference between an invitation to NCAA
post season play and returning home disappointed. It makes that disappointment
much more palatable knowing that it did not happen because the clock operator
did not hear the whistle, or forget to stop the clock.
I compliment
the members of the CIAA executive staff for making the choice to use this
system, and congratulate you on such an innovative product. It is a WINNER!
Sincerely,
Barbara R. Carter
